Committees and Groups

Greater Saint Paul BOMA achievements are largely due to our extraordinary Committee and Group members.  The following Committees and Groups provide the basis by which the organization operates.  Serving on a Committee or Group is not only a great way to get involved, but it is a valuable opportunity to earn Continuing Professional Development Points (CPD's) which are needed to maintain your professional designation (RPA, FMA, SMA). That's right - you can receive six (6) points per year for each Committee or Group you serve on.

Committees

BOMA Membership Committee

  • Encourages continued involvement in the association
  • Meetings held as needed

Education Committee 

  • Co-Chairs - Heide Kempf-Schwarze and Kori De Jong
  • Plans seminars, BOMA Essential Courses, and Membership Meetings
  • Meetings held as needed

Expo Committee

  • Chair - Paul Benson
  • Plans the annual Expo
  • Meetings held as needed

Golf Committee

  • Chair - Eric Walsh
  • Planning and coordination of the annual golf tournament
  • Meetings held in the spring and summer

Government Affairs Committee 

  • Co-Chairs - Tina Hoye and Pat Wolf
  • Acting in an advisory role to the Board of Directors on state and local government issues.  Reviews legislative proposals and ordinances on all levels of government
  • Meets every fourth Tuesday of most months

Marketing & Leasing Committee 

  • Chair - Pat Wolf
  • Oversees BOMA's Annual Office Market Report
  • Meetings held as needed in the summer and fall

Scholarship Committee

  • Co-Chairs - Pat Skinner and Pat Wolf
  • Oversees fundraising and disbursement of funds to GSP BOMA members who have a need and have upcoming scholars in need
  • Meetings held as needed

Security Committee 

  • Chair - Open
  • Meets with law enforcement to understand the security environment in St. Paul
  • Provides education to building and security professionals
  • Advises the Board of Directors on security related matters that can impact commercial real estate
  • Meets the third Tuesday on most months

TOBY Committee

  • Chair - Shawn Wiski
  • Recruits member buildings into the TOBY award program and guides them through local and regional competitions
  • Meetings held as needed

Groups

Brokers - Meets at varying locations on the first Wednesday of every month from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm and discusses marketing of Saint Paul properties.

Engineers (formerly Superintendents) - Meets on the third Wednesday of every month at the Golden Rule Building from 11:30 am - 12:45 pm to promote networking, professional growth and education among building engineers and technical professionals in the industry.
